NLP is basically Neuro-Linguistic Programming usually a movement involved in teaching people the only part of the world they see is very limited, which is also filtered by lots of elements such as biological sensory mechanisms, assumptions, values, beliefs and experience among others. NLP lets you understand that you only feel and act as per the way you perceive the world as compared to how the real world is.

Through this movement, behaviours and language, whether they are dysfunctional or functional appear to be structured. This structure is then easy to copy or model into a form that you can reproduce. Essentially, through NLP, you can model the areas of your behaviour you like or think are successful to reproduce them in those parts of your character where they are not as successful.

It is also through this method that one can model or reproduce another individual to have an effect on behaviour and belief to enhance functioning. NLP ensures that once a person has excelled in something, you can learn how that happened through strict observation of the crucial details affecting such behaviour. There are a number of techniques that come in handy when adopting this method such as hypnosis, thought to bring lots of changes on how a person communicates, learns or thinks. NLP is a diverse field and a movement that has heavily borrowed from different types of fields to explain its technique and understand its presuppositions.

A number of Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques have been developed. One is anchoring, which teaches that people are always making associations or anchors between the things they perceive, feel and hear and their emotional condition. In future pacing technique, a person is asked to imagine that he or she is doing some activity in the future as the reactions are monitored while NLP’s Swish method has thought patterns disrupted as thoughts of unwanted behaviours are left for those desired.
